From my beginnings as researcher I am interested in the biogeography, ecology and evolutionary biology of dung beetles. I study the patterns and processes of species distribution from a macroecological perspective, the management of biodiversity information, and conservation biology. The main topics studied are:

• The altitudinal variation in dung beetle composition and species richness in the Iberian Peninsula, Europe, Bulgaria, Mexico and Colombia.

• The modelization of species distributions for conservation or biogeographical purposes in the Iberian Peninsula or France.

• The influence of the quantity and quality of tropich resources
